This shoes is the result of a two-month long apprenticeship with a shoemaker named Vahan at his store in Burbank, “George’s Dance Shoes.” I worked to create a single shoe, custom made to my foot. The shoe sits on the floor of the gallery, somewhere between a discarded personal item and a sculpture.
